3 Quick Steps to Creating Powerful Internship Recruitment Videos

Businesses know employee recruitment videos are now crucial for convincing the best candidates to head their way. Colleges and universities are starting to make student recruitment videos a standard part of their annual process. But one massive opportunity is still widely overlooked: internship recruitment videos.


It’s easy to see why.



Most organizations are focused on hiring great people, building great cultures… and figuring out how to piece back together working practices smashed by the pandemic.



But every company needs interns. Certainly every company looking for growth. You can’t ignore the next generation and then wonder why your future didn’t turn out the way you’d hoped.



New blood brings new ideas, new energy, new excitement – and a bunch of much-needed support for your existing team. In fact, interns are so important that there’s even a National Intern Day. But like any recruitment process, finding and appealing to the best interns is tricky. That’s why internship recruitment videos are so powerful.



Here’s how to create them:

  1. Use your current interns

    to showcase your internship experience. Task them with filming part of their time with you. A few minutes of video footage soon adds up. Just remember to make sure they capture the key moments in their day, so…

  2. Get creative with your shot list

    and find those moments that get them excited about being with you. Remember, this is the TikTok generation you’re dealing with. They all know how to film using their smartphone, so push them to try new things, especially when it comes to B-roll. Trust us, that extra effort will show through in the final edit. Finally…

  3. Make it fun

    and try to create a project that doesn’t feel like work. Putting on events gives your filmers natural content, so host lunches for your team or have them capture a company outing. The more authentic and real, the better.
